That's for one water heater.

Ok, so I'm not going to totally freak out just yet. But here are the results of my salesguy's findings thus far:

$2200 is for one water heater. He does not know the brand. The contractor who he talked to didn't seem very gung-ho on its touted efficiency. But he did say it would work well. Um, let me look at the figures and decide that for myself.

The insulation business is still being looked into. The contractor guy is still "on it." Whatever that means. Salesguy mumbled something about "roof vents" and maybe there's an issue with overall housing design. I had not thought of this. So I called up my Foam Guy who informed me that it won't be a problem. He says that while there is a way to do it wherein you do redesign the whole roof, there's also a way to do it wherein you don't.

My hope is still there.

The water heater thing is rather annoying, though. Should be a fun battle.

We also went to the "Design Center" for Ryland on Saturday to start picking out floor tiles and the like. They still weren't ready for us. This after I told Salesguy a month ago. This after Salesguy said he'd let them know. But then DesignLady was like, "Salesguy needs to tell us, then we can set up an appointment." I blame DesignLady because every time we've been there, she's acted like helping us is some kind of chore. So Salesguy said he'd call again because they are ready. Ground breaking is in just three weeks. Three weeks! Or so.

In other news, my crazy three-day commuting is coming to an end. At the latest at the end of June. Could be even sooner, mayhaps mid-May. For those of you who don't know about this commute, let's just say it's nearly 230 miles roundtrip. Three days a week. That's like driving to Pittsburgh from Lancaster.
