No, we're not moving.

Got a hilarious response from Melissa when I let everybody know this blog was back up.

"I so thought this email was going to say that you were moving to another state!"

(Preface: I have a feeling I've written this before. But I can't find where. May have been an e-mail. But if you're reading it again, just think of it as a good ol' rerun.)

I understand that I've moved a lot. I just thought it'd be fun to find out exactly how much. So here we go. Let's start from college:

1. Pittsburgh to Lancaster
2. Lancaster to Chestnut Hill
3. Chestnut Hill to Ardmore
4. Ardmore to Lancaster
5. Lancaster to Pittsburgh
6. Pittsburgh to Carmel, IN
7. Carmel to Omaha

So, I graduated in August 2001, and by August 2008 there have been 7 moves. Yeah, that's probably a bit much. And of course there's another one coming up ...

In case you didn't know about the house, it is a foreclosure. It's actually been foreclosed on ... twice. It went through the auction process, and nobody loved it enough to pick it up. So we did! We did after putting an offer in on an older home that was turned down after a little back-and-forth. Then I started looking at the cheapest houses on golf courses. And found this little beauty. So it's not actually on the course, but it's in a golf course community. That means that when you walk to the end of the block, you can see a green, and there are golf cart paths snaking around everywhere. Despite being Suburban Hell, it's relatively beautiful. Save for all the empty lots. But whatever!

The driving commute to work is about 22 minutes, and the bike ride in is 11.5 miles that takes about 50 minutes. No, I'm not that slow. There are several rather long hills between me and downtown. And yes, it's hilly in Omaha. No, really. Don't believe me? Come visit, and we'll go for a bike ride.
