Somewhere in Middle America

Moving Pictures.

The worst UHaul ever. No AC, diesel, two and one-half gears. I wanted it to change gears after like, 40 mph so I could maybe - maybe get slightly better mileage. At the very least, I wanted it to change gears so it wouldn't be so damn noisy. The speedo was equally hilarious. Up til 30 mph, it literally swung back and forth between speeds - a 5 mph range. So you were going "somewhere between" 20 and 25.

I had to pull over to check on things in the back. Make sure they weren't all flying over each other and busting up. No, seriously, nevermind that McDonald's across the highway. No, really.

The sun sets over another fine day of marriage. This on Route 30 on the way home. I was so much nice with the windows down. Did I mention that the heat from the engine was coming up through the floorboards and out through the dashboard? I put my phone on the little tray in front and it almost melted.

Maria looking at yet another car that passed. I now know what all those cars that I've passed feel like. Eh, whatever. We had all day.
