Wedding and cousins

Maria and I at the wedding over the weekend of Anjali's brother, Amit. It was over in New Jersey at a place called the Mansion. The ceremony was outside and right afterward, before we ate, we wandered around and took photos.

Me striking a fanciful pose. The beautiful environs covered up the general Jersey-ness of the place fairly well, I'd say.

Maria and I were put in charge of amusing my four cousins from Canada on Sunday evening. Sunday evening. In Lancaster. Well, off to Lititz we went in the rented Dodge Caravan with the Canadian plates in search of the giant pretzel. I had a giant cow on my mind as well, but that didn't quite pan out.

After the pretzel, we headed down the street to the chocolate factory. It smelled quite sweet and we took our photo out front. Good thing it was closed, though, because the kids were already noisy enough.

After Lititz, we drove to downtown Lancaster and looked like tourists for a while. Basically, I tried to find places to take photos, since we had two cameras and a video camera. On our way out of town, we drove past the Lancaster Prison, but I didn't think it would be a good idea to strike a pose in front of that. But it does look like a castle, which is pretty cool.

More artistic endeavours downtown. Amazing what you can do with fill-flash or whatever.

Drove out 340 into the Amish countryside. I spotted a place with a petting zoo on the side of the road, stood on the brakes and pulled in. The kids didn't seem to have a problem with the driving or the frequent stops. Wherever it was, it had a small petting zoo, which we were greatly amused by.

More beautiful Lancaster County. We pulled off here to take some more photos and generally horse around. It's amazing that kids these days are amused by simple things like driving around and taking photos. Oh, wait, so am I.

We then headed over to Long's Park. On the way there, we bought 2 loaves of bread at Giant for the specific purpose of feeding the ducks. Ursalan came pretty close to falling into the pond a few times. I think he managed to dip at least one of his shoes in.

Me acting my shoe size (11) at every chance. Notice that I'm not exactly going straight, either. Huma is trying to record me with the camcorder from below. I would have continued, but I think the swing frame would have broken with my enormous weight. I don't know why we never did physics equations dealing in swings during school.
