Thank you boredom, I'm back

Thanks to Maria and Asim being out of the country, I've got a bunch of time on my hands. Hence, the blog is back. I figured it'd be a good way to let everybody know what I'm up to and give myself some accountability when I say I'm going to do something (like lose weight).

So to summarize the house purchase:

We had a closing ... scheduled for today. But then thanks to some documents taking too long to get, it's been pushed until next Wednesday. I also didn't realize that in Nebraska you can't buy property without letting your spouse know. Ha! So I needed to get a power of attorney. From Maria. Who is in Pakistan. Rather tricky. But that's in progress.

I'm a little annoyed at not having the closing this weekend only because I'm losing a weekend of moving. We don't have to move out until the end of the month which is nice. I have started some packing -- using giant tubs -- so at least the night of the closing I can make a few trips to get Asim's stuff over there.

Other than that, I've been doing a lot of reading and minimal bike riding. My goal for the books is to finish one every week for the next three months (on track so far) and then with bike riding it's to (between the real bike and the exercise bike) ride 100 miles a week. I'm not really doing well on that, but if I can bust out 3x30 miles over the weekend as I watch football, I should be alright.

Next weekend: Apple Festival down in Nebraska City. I am really, really stoked about this. Last one that I went to was in college up in Ithaca. That's when I brought back like, three gallons of cider.

Oh good, Rehan. It's nice read your updates. Maybe this will inspire me to post on our blog again. Once the zoom on my camera broke, I tired of the whole process.

yay you are back. Isn't it funny how when you are busy and have lots to write about there is no time and then when you aren't you do but all your entries are filled with thoughts on the world and deep probing questions about your inner psyche? oh you can also write about babies born from siblings. www.stumpymonkey.com i know a shameless plug... but a plug nonetheless

What I've read (most recent on top)

  • Boomsday by Christopher Buckley
  • Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer
  • Blindness by Jose Saramago

  • Friday Night Lights by HG Bissinger
