Snowed in

Well, it's Tuesday here in the Midwest, and I'm stuck at home, snowed in by feet and feet of powdery goodness. Actually, that's not true. I went out to the gym today. Got stuck in the parking lot, but managed to shovel my way out using their shovel. I'm not so prduent. Then it was off to the Meijer to get some milk and salsa (which I already had a full jar of). Yesterday when I casually strolled over to the Meijer for burritos, they were out of 1%, 2% and skim milk. Crazy. Today? Everything's back in stock. You just have to trudge through the snow to get to it.

Fortunately I have one of those jobs where I don't need to imperil myself on the roads. Then again, for those of you who know me fairly well, you must know that driving in the snow brings me great joy. No, really. Great, great, joy. Particularly when I had the Audi. Not so much with this Jetta, but I still enjoy slipping about.

Ok, time for some accountability. I'm going to include a few things that I'd like to get done over the next few weeks while I'm home alone. They are in no particular order.

1. Get to the gym at least 5 days a week. I'm still fat. And I have a 10K on 3/10. And a half-marathon in May to do. Side note: I did manage to go today and just do some light cardio so that I can ease into it. Felt pretty good.

2. Finish writing a play. I have this grandiose idea for a simple play. Two characters, one location, three acts. That's all I'll say there.

3. Get to Louisville to putz around. Adam and I are slated to go there on 3/17.

4. Clean the heck out of this apartment. Asim's papers are here and there, bills are here and there; it's all a disorganized mess. I also save magazines thinking that I'm going to read them. These need to be sorted through and thrown out.

5. Start studying for the LEED Accredited Professional Exam.

6. Hash-out a study plan for my Professional Engineering exam that I'll be taking in October. I'm going to go out there and say it -- this is akin to the Bar exam. I think the Bar is over two days? Well, this exam has two parts -- the first of which I took about four years ago (8 hours, closed book save for provided formulae). Then you have to 'practice' as an engineer for four years. And get five letters of recommendation. Three have to come from people with PEs. And this exam? 8 hours, open book. Here are the passing rates (bottom of page). So yes, I'm going to start studying now. All I know is that it's going to feel fantastic once I get my license.

7. Photograph the heck out of Downtown Indianapolis. This will have to wait until maybe late March when it warms up a little more.
